WAITING FOR OUR FRIENDS

 This day has finally arrived! Today, nearly all the students of 4th from the subject of scientific culture and a little amount of 3rd have gone to Manises’ airport because… the exchange students are here! They arrived on different timetables, and each Spanish student has gone at a specific hour to pick them up. 

Then, we all hung out together around Alaquàs and had dinner. 

We’re so happy to have them with us. 

We can’t wait to show them our town and make this week unforgettable!

    Enjoy the experiencie! We want to know everything you do and learn. The whole project sounds really interesting. Environmental issues are important in the short and long term. I hope you get to an agreement on future collaborations to improve everyone's life.

  We went through Alaquas old town with a guide who also was a teacher at the school who showed us the famous things about the old City, and a German treacherous from Herzogenrath translated the explanation into English.  At First, he showed us the streets and houses and told us some Facts about it how the roof of the houses was built so that they catch the rainwater and let it flow down so they can collect it. The old city was built by the Arabians in the 16th century as you could see by the architecture and the small streets. We also saw a Parking lot that was a big plaza back then, it was really cool.  As the tour went on he showed us the oldest bakery with the oldest oven in Alaquas we could see through a small hole in the wall.  Later we saw a big plaza with nice houses build in the 19th century in the modern style, we talked about the architecture and the Clay vases that you could see all around the city and how they were made.  After that, they showed us ...

WELCOME TO ALAQUAS (SPAIN) All the community of Mare de Déu de l'Olivar II school want to welcome our colleagues from Parainen (Finland), Warsaw (Poland), Herzogenrath (Germany) and Cologne (Germany).  All of us are very excited about your arrival, and  we are ready to start working on the topic of WATER. During this week we are going to visit places as amazing as the Albufera Natural Park, the Oceanografic, the Environmental Education Centre of Valencian Community, theTancat de la Pipa Reserve, the Torrent sewage treatment plant, the Limne Foundation.... We will reflect on the topic of Water and how to do a sustainable use of it.

Cycling in Devasa

We were biking along a beach called Platja de la Devasa and we took stops to learn about water and the places history. We all had so much fun and got to know the surroundings so much better. In the Devasa there is 4 different vegetation areas: For example one is Mediterranean, typical plant for Mediterranean area is olive tree. There is also a dyne area and it is really dry. We got some good memories with our new friends. We were surprised about the interesting facts that we learned in different locations. Only bad thing was those ponds that we had to bike trough but I found it really fun. Also the waves were big.
