 When these activities ended, we took the bus back to Alaquas and had time to go home and have lunch with our exchange partners. That is different to our school, we have our lunch break there.

At 15.45 we met again for the last activity of the day in a kind of office building next to the school, where we presented our schools and local water sources. We got many new information about the other countries, that was very interesting. Based on the facts given from both presentations we played kahoot. Each country played against each other - a lot of fun. The finish school won. 

We got post-its to write expectations and questions about Spain and the project. These were shown to all students at school. We are looking forward to get our answers during the week.

After school we met in a café - a group of mixed students. We had spanish cakes, they tasted so good. 

The best part of the official day was the kahoot and our free time, where we learned a lot about the spanish culture.

  This day has finally arrived!  Today, nearly all the students of 4th from the subject of scientific culture and a little amount of 3rd have gone to Manises’ airport because… the exchange students are here! They arrived on different timetables, and each Spanish student has gone at a specific hour to pick them up.   Then, we all hung out together around Alaquàs and had dinner.   We’re so happy to have them with us.   We can’t wait to show them our town and make this week unforgettable!

WELCOME TO ALAQUAS (SPAIN) All the community of Mare de Déu de l'Olivar II school want to welcome our colleagues from Parainen (Finland), Warsaw (Poland), Herzogenrath (Germany) and Cologne (Germany).  All of us are very excited about your arrival, and  we are ready to start working on the topic of WATER. During this week we are going to visit places as amazing as the Albufera Natural Park, the Oceanografic, the Environmental Education Centre of Valencian Community, theTancat de la Pipa Reserve, the Torrent sewage treatment plant, the Limne Foundation.... We will reflect on the topic of Water and how to do a sustainable use of it.

Welcoming by the major

  Our day started at 8:00 am at our school in Alaquas. Our meeting point was at the gym, and we were very tired because of our experiences of the last day.  When we were going to the town hall it was raining and we were glad to arrive at the town hall.  The major of Alaquas Toni Saura welcomes us at the plenary hall with the woman Marian Espert who is responsible for the social projects in Alaquas. They told us things about the population and the economy, we were very shocked that Alaquas have more or less than 30 000 citizens because cologne has around 8 million citizens. The fact that he told us that Alaquas created a new forest showed us that the politic in Alaquas cares about the environment and climate change. He also told us about the castle of Alaquàs, and that the historic monument is now used for festivals or meetings.
